Program Overview
The Power S1112 is the entry-tier Power 11 model that matters most to smaller IBM i buyers because it gives the market a current-generation hardware path below the larger scale-out and enterprise systems. It is the natural model to compare when an older entry server still runs the business but the support runway, power draw, or capacity headroom is no longer comfortable.
Buyers should treat the S1112 as a sizing conversation, not just a model-name search. IBM i release support, P-group economics, memory requirements, internal storage, HMC compatibility, and migration downtime all need to be checked before ordering.
