If existing twinax cabling and controllers are stable and replacement units are still available, staying on twinax with ruggedized replacement terminals is often the simpler and cheaper path for an active floor.
IP attachment makes more sense when twinax hardware is becoming hard to source, when a facility is standardizing on IP networking anyway, or when device placement flexibility is a real operational need. Either path should preserve the operator experience your teams already know.
