Definition
AS400 hosting is a managed infrastructure path for IBM i and AS/400 workloads where the server environment runs in a provider facility, cloud-adjacent Power environment, or other managed setting instead of the buyer's own data center.
The key buying distinction is ownership. A hosting provider may supply only Power capacity, or it may also manage LPAR operations, backups, monitoring, security evidence, and after-hours support. Buyers should define that operating model before comparing hosting prices.
